We finally left a few days later than originally expected… Or a few months later than expected depending on how you look at it. It was cold (well below freezing!) and we had never gone on a trip in this kind of weather
or with this much driving, so I hoped that everyone would be warm enough – especially the driver! I picked everyone up on Wednesday and I’m pretty sure Bopa shed a tear (of joy?) as he waved us off in the bitter cold. Off we went with the car in tow for a mid-day departure. We all stayed warm and the kids stayed entertained.
We stopped in Lewisburg, PA for dinner and after a quick discussion, we decided to spend the night in the Walmart parking lot next door. This was our first time overnighting at a Walmart. We went inside the store to get permission to park overnight and do a little shopping. The kids had a great time running around the store.Over the previous few days of keeping the bus warm while it was all packed we had used up one propane tank, so we switched to the smaller tank that evening. We went to bed warm and exhausted, blissfully unaware of what the next morning had in store for us.

As I remember, the next morning was a “fixing the bus” day… We were all glad you were able to finally start out on your family adventure, though we knew we would miss you… and do! xxoo
